On May 19th, Juniors Lilly Morrissey and Megan O'Connor organized a joint day of service and leadership for students from Gwynedd Mercy Academy and La Salle College High School. This event marked the first collaboration between the two institutions, focusing on shared values taught throughout their education.

Lead4Change is a program that aims to empower youth to become leaders in their communities. The program teaches its members a variety of leadership skills including effective communication, teamwork, perseverance, and a sense of responsibility.

On Tuesday, February 20th, Gwynedd hosted LEAD's annual Fat Tuesday Fundraiser. Despite a minor setback due to a snow day, the service committee of LEAD, led by chair Nina Zoglio ’24, managed to work around this obstacle and provide the students with a fun celebration.

On Saturday, March 2nd, Sophia Desantis ‘24 and Mia Hudak ‘24 volunteered at the Simon’s Heart Soiree at Lincoln Financial Field. This event highlighted the great work of the Simon’s Heart Foundation and its mission to raise awareness about cardiac arrest in children.

On January 17th Trumark hosted a Reality Fair for students in the McHugh Gymnasium. The fair aimed to educate Gwynedd’s students on becoming financially stable adults, better preparing them for college and adulthood.

Throughout December, Gwynedd’s Leadership Development Committee (LDC) worked tirelessly on creating proposals for a project titled “Leadership Through Inclusivity." This project gave the girls an opportunity to pitch a leadership project based on a topic of interest for their group such as social media, athletics, STEM, music, service, etc.

Participants in Lead4Change not only get to create and lead a project aligned with their passions but also contribute to sparking positive change in our community. Last year, three groups were awarded a $1,000 grant each to support their initiatives and expand their impact this year.

Gwynedd’s annual coat drive is a result of senior Ava Kolp’s hard work and is inspired by her “Gwynedd Gives Warmth” Lead4Change project. She created this project to benefit members of the community while incorporating the Critical Concern of Earth.
