On Tuesday, February 20th, Gwynedd hosted LEAD's annual Fat Tuesday Fundraiser. Despite a minor setback due to a snow day, the service committee of LEAD, led by chair Nina Zoglio ’24, managed to work around this obstacle and provide the students with a fun celebration.

This team of student-leaders spent the entire month of January planning this event and figuring out the perfect way to celebrate the occasion. Together, they decided to organize an ice cream and waffle event, allowing students to create their ideal sundaes with a variety of toppings to choose from. However, to participate in the cafeteria activities, students were required to pay a $5 entrance fee. By the end of the day, the girls had raised $538, with all proceeds going to Mercy Hospice, a community grounded in faith and service, providing support to single women and mothers with children experiencing homelessness.
